The cheapest although slowest way to apply for or renew a British passport is via the Standard Service (takes up to 8 weeks). You can apply for this service from the UK or from overseas. If you have have held a British passport in the past then you can use the Fast Track or Premium Services if you require it sooner then 8 weeks.
