You must make an appointment with the Passport Office in order to obtain your new passport in this manner.
This office is for passport interviews only. This office will not process your passport application. Only passport customer service centres will do this. You can renew or replace your passport at any time through a customer service centre. The time left on an existing passport will be added to your new one – up to a maximum of 9 months. You must replace your passport as soon as possible if it has more than the reasonable amount of wear and tear, as you may not be allowed to travel with it.
The London office is situated on Eccleston Square / Belgravia Road. Most customers approach the building via Victoria Station. Access to Globe House via Victoria Station comes via Hudson Place, which is adjacent to Platform 1.
The London IPS Customer Service Centre is fully accessible to wheelchair users. The building also includes disabled toilets, baby changing facilities, and Braille signs.

What to Expect During Your Interview
When you arrive at Her Majesty’s Passport Office, note that the office is for interviews only – it cannot issue you a passport.
The interview will take approximately 30 minutes. During your interview, you will be asked to confirm facts about yourself that someone who is trying to steal your identity may not know.
Her Majesty’s Passport Office will destroy any personal information that is used in your interview shortly after the time that your new passport has been issued.
It is important to note that you may not need an identity interview if you were born on or before 2 September 1929. Her Majesty’s Passport Office will tell you when they are dealing with your application.
After Your Interview
Following your interview, Her Majesty’s Passport Office will continue with your application. You can begin to track your passport application approximately 3 weeks after you apply.
Your new passport will be sent to you either via courier or Royal Mail Recorded Delivery. The postman or courier will then do one of the following:
- Hand your new passport to you if you are at home
- Deliver your passport with the rest of your post
- Leave you a card or send you a letter to tell you where to collect your passport or how to arrange re-delivery
